Product Description

Bustin Limited Edition Boombox Pro 7 Longboard

The Boombox Pro is an adapted version of the Boombox designed to provide riders with an even longer lasting, more impact resistant freeride/freestyle deck. Two models were created for two different flex options. The 6-ply Boombox is light and flexy with only 6 plies of maple as a core, allowing the board to remain super trickable for riders focusing on lower speed freestyle maneuvers and light freeride. The 7-ply, on the other hand, is more ideal for freeride and downhill riders who also want the option to pull out freestyle maneuvers. Both decks will handle much more impact than the original wood version, though the cost reflects the additional time and materials that go into the decks. For riders who will be primarily doing freeriding with less flip-tricking, the original all-wood Boombox is still a beast and a favorite among the Bustin team.

DESIGN:
The Boombox started with the shape of the EQ, a topmount deck that aimed to maximize footspace and lock in feet with an extreme but comfortable concave. Much thought was placed into how and where the foot bends, and the shape of the concave reflects this.

The progressive radial concave starts out very mellow in the center of the deck and increases in intensity near the edges, creating a comfortable standing platform for front facing pushing and locking you in tight in sideways stance. The concave tops out at 9/16" near the deck's shoulders. The radial drops lift the center of the deck where the trucks mount, creating a shelf that keeps your feet from shifting. Bending and lifting the wood out of the center of the deck allows the concave to be retained through the edges of the foot platform, helping further lock in the rider when compared to traditionally dropped decks.

With all the bends in this board, there is hardly a weak spot to be found. The deck is nearly indestructible when facing large drops, cars, and extended use, and with the addition of fiberglass, the corners of the deck will survive much more abuse. The fiberglass decks also have the benefit of being highly weatherproof.

The graphic is a sublimated photo by local NYC shredder and photographer Chris Rivera depicting a classic NYC subway hustle. We thought the photo showed an energy that is distinctly New York and epidomized the potential and the vibe of the Boombox Pro boards. Like our other fiberglass options, the graphic is sublimated into the Triaxial Fiberglass for an ultra durable, scratch resistant finish that is tattooed into the finish.

7-ply:
This deck is stiffer than our 8-ply wood Boombox and significantly more impact resistant in every way. If you're looking for an indestructible, trickable longboard, you have come to the right place. The 7-ply Boombox Pro is heavier than the all-wood version but still highly maneuverable and even more ready to go fast. There is a slight flex in the center of the deck for ease of pushing and a little added liveliness when commuting. When feet are placed near the drops, flex is minimal and will not affect high speed riding. We recommend this deck for riders of all shapes and sizes who plan on pushing the limits of their skateboard equipment.

CONSTRUCTION:
The construction of the Boombox Pro contains sturdy, Canadian rock maple, sandwiched by 2 layers of pretensioned fiberglass. The wood cores are cold pressed first and allowed to cure, and then they are hot pressed with fiberglass using our top secret epoxy formula handed down to us by some of the best in the surf-board industry. Short and sweet, it is the business. The board is pressed, sanded, and finished in our North Carolina manufacturing facility by skateboarding Americans earning a living wage, because that's how we believe it should be done.
